Christmas Carol Service & Supper 2013

On 13th December 2013, the Company’s annual Carol Service took place at the Tower of London in the historic Chapel Royal of St Peter Ad Vincula, followed by Supper at Watermen’s Hall nearby. The Service was conducted by The Reverend Cortland Fransella, who stepped in for Canon Roger Hall M.B.E., the Honorary Chaplain to the Company.

The Service was accompanied by an outstanding choir, singing traditional Carols. Our Christmas Supper at Watermen’s Hall is always a full house and last year was no exception with over 80 members and guests attending. Special guests included Jonathan Chandler, Master of the Guild of Public Relations Practitioners and Virginia Rounding C.C., the Guild’s Clerk. It was a memorable and fun evening with the Master changing the format and organising a special visit from Santa.

The evening started with Grace by Liveryman Andy Williamson and a delicious three course meal, accompanied as usual with great wine. The networking and drinks reception that usually happen on arrival were switched to after the meal, where Port and Brandy were served. Santa popped in towards the end of the meal to announce he had a present for every member and guest. However, everyone had to sit on his knee to get it!

It put everyone firmly in the festive mood! By the end of it all, Santa looked a little drained. Luckily he had a couple of weeks to recover before Christmas Day.
