Our Livery welcomes four new Liverymen at Master’s Installation

During the Installation Ceremony of our new Master, we also welcomed four new Liverymen

On the 29th October 2021, Freemen Carl Platt Cemex UK; Steve Duke Knauf Insulation; Steve Halford The Garage Door Company; and Paul Pamment C T Baker took their oath to the Company in the presence of the Clerk and the Court and were clothed Liverymen.

The Installation of a new Master is one of the main events in our Livery’s calendar, and is also an opportunity for Freemen of the Company and of the City of London to apply to be admitted to the Livery. The prestigious installation ceremony took place at Plaisterers’ Hall and was followed by a white-tie drinks reception and dinner to celebrate the occasion.

Immediate Past Master Stewart Pierce comments: “It is always a special occasion to progress from Freeman to Liveryman, and over the last 18 months all our member admissions and installation ceremonies have been virtual. So it was an honour as one of my last duties as Master to welcome four new Liverymen at a ‘live’ event! I congratulate them all, and our new Master Andy Williamson.”

The Master adds: “It’s fantastic to be part of a Livery that represents so many active members from the industry and we encourage all our members to attend our networking events, support the Company’s fundraising activities, and take up the opportunities associated with being part of a Modern Livery Company. I hope this year’s Installation ceremony is the start of many Livery events that we can once again enjoy in person!”

Our Livery Company represents all parts of the industry and members include leading figures in merchants, manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, buying groups, service suppliers and ancillary trades. Membership is by invitation only and currently stands at 209 active Liverymen and 23 Freemen.
