Dear Liverymen and Freemen,
Following the news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Master has cancelled our event at Apothecaries’ Hall on 16th September in line with the cancellation of other City events. It is an extremely sad time in our National life as we reflect upon the extraordinary life of service which Her Majesty led for over 70 years, and her devotion to duty. The Master will be sending a letter of condolence.
If you also wish to leave a personal message of condolence, Buckingham Palace have shared the online book here – www.royal.uk/send-message-condolence
Our Livery is in contact with the City Corporation and the Lord Mayor and we will update you in due course as to any other developments which protocol requires. In the meantime, below is a prayer from our Honorary Chaplin Canon Roger J Hall MBE.

Dear friends,
All of us feel a tremendous sense of loss, sadness and bereavement following the death of our Most Gracious Sovereign Lady, The Queen. This is a time of both personal and national mourning.
A prayer for our Most Gracious Sovereign Lady, The Queen
Almighty God, the maker and redeemer of all believers: Grant to thy servant Elizabeth, our late Queen, and all the faithful departed, all the unsearchable benefits of thy Son’s saving passion; that in the day of his appearing she may, with all your saints, know the comfort and promise of your gracious love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
As we enter a time of mourning and reflection upon the death of HM Queen Elizabeth, we hold in our prayers all the members of the Royal Family and, in particular, our new King, Charles III.
We also pray for one another, the Nation, the Commonwealth and for all the members of the Royal Household.
May Queen Elizabeth rest in peace and rise in glory. Long live The King.
