With the mayoral year in full swing under the stewardship of Lord Mayor Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli, we wanted to share with you the news and events The Lord Mayor’s Appeal have coming up over the next few months.
Ride Around the City
Our first event planned is Ride Around the City which takes place on Wednesday 22 May. The Lord Mayor and Sheriffs will be riding on horseback through the City in order to raise awareness and funds for the Appeal, making several stops along the way. To support them on this equine adventure please do get in touch.
Lord Mayor’s Appeal Abseil Challenge
Next up is The Lord Mayor’s Appeal Abseil Challenge at The Leadenhall Building on Friday 7 June. The registration fee is £35 with a minimum sponsorship target of £500 per participant. Abseiling experts will be on hand to show you the ropes before descending from the 47th Floor at an impressive 215m accompanied by an instructor. Bavarian Ball
Hot on the heels of the Abseil is the Bavarian Ball taking place at Mansion House on Thursday 13 June hosted by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress. This unique Bavarian inspired event will reflect the heritage of the Lady Mayoress and will include a Beer and Champagne reception, a mouthwatering Bavarian feast, a five piece roaming band and plenty of foot stomping, singing, swaying and cheering! Groups of ten are £3,000, groups of eight are £2,400 and individual tickets are £300.
Annual Sheriff’s Ball
Later in the year, the Sheriffs will be raising money for the Appeal with the annual Sheriffs’ Ball which takes place on Friday 20 September at Guildhall with a theme of London Calling… celebrating the best of London and Britain. The evening will include a drinks reception, three course dinner, entertainment, a DJ and the ever popular dancing. Tables of ten at £2,500 and tickets £250 which are now on sale.
