On Friday 28th March, 2025, Master Steve Boyer, along with members of the Livery and their guests attended the 81st United Guilds’ Service at St Paul’s Cathedral, London, followed by lunch at Carpenters’ Hall.
First established in 1943 following the Blitz of 1940-41, the service acts as a reminder of the religious origins of the Guilds.
The event is attended by representatives of every London Livery Company, who gather to mark the work of the Livery Companies in the City of London via a service of great ceremony and beautiful music.
The annual United Guilds Service is attended by The Lord Mayor and the Court of Alderman, and this year the sermon was given by The Very Reverend Mark Oakley, Dean of Southwark.
This year’s Sermon has been praised by Masters and Clerks alike, and a copy of the Sermon can be viewed here.
