The WCoBM recently invited Liveryman Andy Williamson to join the Court at a prestigious ceremony last October.
Andy is Group MD of IKO plc and has been a Liveryman of the Company since 2008. His advancement to Court Assistant sets him on the path to becoming Master, subject to election. It’s a process that takes several years of preparation before Andy is installed as Master and sets out to represent the Livery and our industry in the City over a 12 month period.
The current Master Leo Martin comments: “We congratulate Andy on his appointment to the Court. He is an active member of the Livery Company and a leading figure in our industry, which will stand him in good stead as he prepares for this significant role. We wish him all the best.”
Andy adds: “I feel honoured and proud to have been invited on to the WCoBM Court. The Livery plays a key part in the construction and builders’ merchant sectors, promoting training and education and fundraising for a number of charities. It’s also very active in raising the profile of our industry in the City, and highlighting the importance of builders’ merchants in ‘Supplying Britain’s Building Needs’.
“I’m keen the WCoBM continues to evolve and maintain a prominent position in the City and I aim to contribute to its ongoing development in my path to Master”.
Our Livery includes many leading figures in merchants, manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, buying groups, service suppliers and ancillary trades. Membership is by invitation only.
