It was great to see our Company represented in The Livery Kitchen Cookbook, with a dedicated recipe for Boeuf Bourguignon!
The cookbook commemorates the combined efforts, generosity and donations of City Livery Companies, individuals and volunteers to an initiative that supported NHS hospital workers during the pandemic.
The Livery Kitchen Initiative (LKI) was set up in Spring last year to provide fresh and nutritious meals to staff in A&E, medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, theatres and intensive care during an incredibly busy and worrying time. WCoBM donated £2,000 from its charity fund to the LKI, which raised more than £200,000 and delivered more than 170,000 meals by Summer 2021.
The Cookbook includes many mouth watering recipes from the City’s leading chefs and was put on sale in February to raise money for the City Harvest charities supporting poverty in the East End. It was a sell-out, with over 1,200 copies sold and raising nearly £19,000.
