Christmas Celebration in the Tower

On 12th December 2014, the Company’s annual Christmas Carol Service took place at the Tower of London in the historic Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula. The Service was conducted by our Honorary Chaplain The Reverend Canon Roger Hall, MBE. A superb choir led the traditional Carols with their outstanding voices.

The Chapel is probably best known as the burial place of some of the most famous prisoners executed at the Tower. These include the three queens of England – Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard and Lady Jane Grey. Sir Thomas More is also buried in the Chapel. Their headless bodies were buried under the nave or chancel without memorial until the 19th century when remains found in the nave were re-interred in the crypt.

If you’ve not attended before then make a note of this years’ service on Friday 11th December. It’s a unique experience to attend a service in such an historic chapel, and a fantastic occasion to enjoy with guests, family and friends.

But it doesn’t stop there! Following the service, supper is served at Watermen’s Hall, a short walk from the Tower. Last year’s dinner was a memorable and fun evening starting with networking and reception drinks on arrival, followed by a delicious three course meal, accompanied as usual by great wine and port! Both the service and supper is a full house so you need to book in plenty of time to avoid disappointment. Pencil the date now!
