Battle of Britain Memorial Flight – Worshipful Company of Builders Merchants

It was with deepest sadness that the Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants learned of the tragic death of pilot Squadron Leader Mark Long from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight during a Spitfire accident on Saturday 25^th May.

Our Company has long been friends and supporters of the BBMF, and a group of us were fortunate enough to meet Mark during a recent visit to RAF Coningsby, where his passion for and knowledge of flying shone through.

The Master has written to BBMF Squadron Leader Mark Sugden to express our deepest condolences, and to offer our assistance wherever possible.

Everyone at the Worshipful Company holds the entire BBMF team, and Mark’s family and friends, in our thoughts and close to our hearts at such a sad time.
